Sanyo Unveils Network Projector, Powerful Lamp
Sanyo has recently released one of the companies most advanced projectors to date, the PLC-WXU700. Complete with IEEE802.11n LAN wireless capabilities and equipped with a projector lamp that produces 3800 Lumens, but that does not require a cooling period after it has been powered down, Sanyo`s main competitors are surely taking notice. The PLC-WXU700 projector that was revealed recently by Sanyo is a tour-de-force as far as specifications go – and the projector is compact, measuring only 13 x 10 x 3 inches. And most importantly, it is loaded with features that make it one of the world’s cutting edge projectors. For example, the PLC-WXU700 projector is equipped with state-of-the-art projector lamp cooling technology that is not found on any other projector, that we know of, anywhere in the world. The cooling technology inside the PLC-WXU700 makes sure that the projector lamp for the unit does not heat up to the extremely high temperatures typical of projector lamps. This allows the user to unplug the projector immediately after using it (in the past users had to wait until the fan shut off to unplug the projector) and move it to any location necessary, right away, for the next presentation. The projector lamp cooling technology included in this projector will be an obvious plus for any university or grade school needing to acquire a new projector.
In addition to the projector lamp cooling technology, the PLC-WXU700 has a plethora of other specifications that dazzle. For example, the projector is also classified as a compact, wide screen projector; meaning that it is extremely small and can project an image of up to 300 inches. The projector also includes a picture-in-picture function, and super-high-speed wireless capability. As an example, the projector can stream video from any Windows Vista PC even while the video is still being transferred from the computer to the projector.
The one downside to this projector is obviously its weak contrast ratio of 500:1, but Sanyo is targeting the business user with this projector and it is not recommended that you buy this projector to watch TV or movies. For business presentation use, the low contrast ratio is not that big a downside.
The PLC-WXU700 employs a 275W projector lamp and will retail for around $3500 USD. For more information about this projector please contact Sanyo directly.
