Mitsubishi LVP-X500U; VLT-X500LP: Still Top of the Line

The Mitsubishi LVP-X500U is a sturdy machine used mostly in classrooms due to its extremely bright image. It was originally quite an expensive projector costing over $10,000 USD; however a 1080i projector produced in 2004 was quite rare and therefore was priced adequately. It is now out of production, but if you have one already, then you know that it is definitely a keeper!

The X500 has a lumens rating of 3700 ANSI, and can produce a bright image even in classrooms where there is much ambient light present. This is why it sold so well to the University and College demographic. Now the contrast ratio is not so great, at 400:1, is why it may not have sold very well to the home theatre enthusiast. Most people who have created a home theatre watch their movies in quite a dark room; therefore it is contrast that they crave. The X500 uses a 300W SHP projector lamp, and this is what enables the projector to create such a bright picture. The replacement lamp for this projector can be purchased by clicking here here.

The X500U comes with the option to change its lense; giving you the ability to improve your picture quality and throw distance if you need place the projector deeper than 9m. This is extremely useful if you need it for large auditorium use as well as small classroom use. It also has a DVI-D input, which is better than your usual component video or even your HD cables, because it sends the signal digitally and provides excellent resolution. It has a native resolution of 1024x768p that can be compressed up to 1280x1024p.

The Mitsubishi LVP-X500U has been out of production for 4 years now, however with Mitsubishi’s great service policies you don’t have to worry about them forgetting about you or the machine becoming obsolete. You also don’t have to worry about ever having to worry a lack of supply of projector lamps as myprojectorlamps.com should be able to fill your needs.
