India’s Economy Ready For Projectors

Infocus has decided to increase its position in the Home Theatre market in India. The Indian economy is growing and what better place to break into considering the population and the trend towards large screen, home theatre environments.

Bollywood is the largest movie production scene in the world churning out hundreds and thousands of movies per year. There are many theatres, but if you have the capability and the resources to afford a nice home theatre, why not watch in the comfort of your own home.

Sports in India are also off-the-hook, and if you get the chance to watch some cricket, why not make sure you get a quality image to view your favorite sport.

Infocus focused its attention on the corporate and educational environments but until now had not introduced itself fully into the home market.

Plasma televisions are coming down in price while LCD televisions maintain their expensive taste. They both offer a high quality image, but projectors offer a truly functional feature, the feature of mobility.

Depending on the lumens offered and the definition of the contrast, decent home theatre projectors are priced between $1000 and $10000. They are always coming down in price and the projector lamps are also becoming affordable thanks to innovative companies like myprojectorlamps.com.

Once again, the main feature is the projectors ability to be mobile. If you are moving, you can shove it in a carrying case and not have to worry about movers dropping and smashing your 300 pound TV.

There is a growth in the Asian market for high end consumer electronics and Infocus is benefiting by introducing its ‘ScreenPlay’ line of projectors to the Indian market. The SP4805 model offers a great zoom lens which allows the user to make the image as big or small as they want depending on what is needed.

You have the ability to bring your projector to your friends house, and if their wall is not quite as big, simply use the zoom to reduce the image size. Two families that live next to each other could pool their resources and purchase a projector between the two.

Movie night would then become an event and it could change venues from house to house and still be comfortable. There are many movie lovers in India obviously, and targeting such an obvious market is a smart move by Infocus.
